How to delete a quiz?

Hi,

I've searched around, and I didn't found a way to delete a quiz. I created it User-Can-Add, and I didn't wanted it that way. Is there any way to delete it? Thanks :P

Hello there, Danny Sadinoff here, CTO at MyStudiyo.com.

I'm going to be using this thread on forums.mystudiyo.com to keep our users and partners aware of the status of the MyStudiyo service.

In particular, the site underwent a partial outage this weekend. A portion of our users saw blank screens from Friday 30 May 03:00 UTC until the system was restored to health Saturday 1 June at 18:00.

Obviously this isn't where we want to be. The holes allowing this to happen have been closed, and the engineering which makes the MyStudiyo system reliable, robust and fun continues to improve.

We're sorry for any inconvenience due to the outage.

Keeping Track of Visitors

I am looking to use MyStudiyo in a classroom setting, so I will need to be able to keep track of who took the quiz, possibly when they took it, and each individuals score.

I am assuming that:
(1) Students need to register so they will have a user name...which will be used to keep them unique and show their score.
(2) Student could take the quiz multiple times.

I also read in the forum that users can go through the quiz, get all the correct answers (without submitting), and then take it again.

My questions are:
Can I set up a quiz so a student can only take the quiz once?
Do the statistics show user names and points?

How to avoid Cheats

Hi,

Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but it's very easy to cheat in a quiz currently.

1) Take the Quiz and write all the answers down.
2) Don't submit you score
3) Re-take the quiz and get all questions correct and then submit your score.

Would it be better to track everyone who has taken the quiz by IP regardless of whether they submitted a score so you could find these people.

or would it be possible to force users to register first before taking the test and have there score automatically submitted at the end?

Just a couple of ideas.. or maybe this is already possible and I missed it.

Feature Updates as of 16 April, 2008

We have added some great tools to the site to allow you to instantly share or embed your quizzes into the most popular social and bookmarking sites.
You can now Preview any question inside the Editor. You can also jump-to specific questions for Preview and / or edit. To use this feature press Preview Quiz when you are in the Add / Edit Question step of the editor - it will slide open inside the same window.
The MyQuizzes page now shows all quizzes you have started creating.
User-can-add quizzes can be replayed from the beginning using the Play button on the end screen.
Forums pages have been added for user interaction and feedback.
FAQs have been expanded.

Here is an example embed code that will result in the embed of a Sudoku Tutorial Quiz on your page. It embeds as a natural part of any web or blog page where iFrames are accepted.

If you're looking for a Forum for special requests or comments that do not fit into any other threads then this is the place.

Suggest new ideas, templates, features for a Quiz or another widget style.

Submit questions or ideas for other Quiz Creators. Generate discussion and comments on your own content ideas.

Support other Quiz Creators: Generate community & foster good will for your own content.

* If you have ideas for future quizzes try posting a request for another expert to address, e.g., Best Ways to Get Rid of Ants - or a Top In-Laws Gifts Quiz.

Note that topics which educate and interest the widest audience are best.

Attracting visitors to your Quizzes

Make your Quizzes much more attractive with pictures, videos, links, anything to generate sticky traffic. The more you involve your visitor the more likely they are to stay engaged.

Select topics that are not time sensitive i.e., today's news only. They will be forgotten tomorrow.

Attracting visitors to your Quizzes, especially from search engines like Google and Yahoo, depends on 3 factors:
1. Write informative & unique content 2.Promote your work 3.Patience

Promote your Quizzes by posting links on your personal blog or Website referencing your Quizzes.

To brainstorm for ideas that have been used successfully by others surf through these *best of* quizzes. http://www.mystudiyo.com/search.php

Email your quiz link to friends, ask them to promote the quiz and post it with linls or better yet with the Embed code on their blog and web pages. If its good content they will want to embed it.

If its good content you will be surprised at how many BLOGS will end up hosting your quiz -- if they know about it.

Tip: The more you write, the higher your chances are of success.

Make great Quizzes and the readers will come. You can even start earning money through Google Ads surrounding your quizzes on your page or from the embedded promotions.

Q . My YouTube video won't play, what could be the problem?
A . You might have the wrong link selected and pasted. Or, the live video may no longer be live - it may have been removed from the You Tube source online.

To test a video link: Copy the url (the link to the video) & paste it into any browser. It should play fine in a browser if you want it to play in your quiz.

Q . How do I enter Hyperlinks into the feedback text?
A . There is a model on the page just next to the entry field. It should look like this

Starting your first Quiz - Using the Quiz Creator

The MyStudiyo Wizard helps you easily create in just a few minutes your first quiz. You can also use the Wizard to edit any of your existing quizzes.

Quizzes can contain pictures, videos, links, and more.
This thread is for Quiz Creation discussions.

Starting Your First Quiz
Click on Create Now or Create Quiz - the buttons or links all lead to the Quiz Creation wizard.

- Pick a Skin - you can always change it later.
- Choose a title for your Quiz. Be specific and descriptive;
Titles that are too general are less effective.

Note that some special punctuation or foreign characters may not work all too well... they might generate error messages. Be careful. Be sure to preview your entire quiz before taking it on the road.

- Add your questions and Answers - make sure that you indicate which answer is Correct.

All your quizzes are reachable via your My Quizzes Page where you can edit or update any aspect of the text and embedded media items. You can edit and make changes anytime you are logged in.

If you don't already have an account:
- Go to http://www.MyStudiyo.com
- Click on Login and then Join Now!

- Enter your user name. This will be your public pen name. We encourage you to use a name that connects with your content; i.e. Jill Smith, for example, will not be ideal user name if your main quiz topic is about Cars.

Try a pen name such as Best-Autos or Top-Cars to lend the idea of your quiz some extra energy.

You can use spaces and numbers in your user-name. You cannot change this later, so please choose carefully. You can set up additional names if you need to.

- Enter an email address where we can contact you.
- Enter a password , and reenter. Please choose something you can remember!
- Click the check box to mark that you have read and agree to the MyStudiyo terms of use.
- Click the Register Button
